Budget friendly lunchbox treats
- Cut cookies into shapes with small cookie
cutters, bake brownies in a mini-muffin pan, cut sandwiches into
four pieces.
- Make your own juice boxes with pop-up water
bottles. Add seltzer water for a “juice cocktail.”
- Build your own munch-a-lunches with ham and
cheese slices, crackers, cookies and fruit.
- Send fruit along with a dip of plain low-fat
yogurt or cottage cheese mixed with apricot jam.
- Send veggies along with low-fat yogurt or
cottage cheese mixed with a little bit of ranch dressing mix.
- Send peanut butter with pretzels and celery.
- Avoid fruit gummy things. Real fruit is cheaper
and healthier.
- Mix raisins, dried apples, or apricots with
nuts. Add a few chocolate chips or M&M’s.
