Tips:
Healthy Eating on a Budget
Preparing for shopping
Plan meals and shop for them. This will cut down on impulse buying and having “nothing in the house to eat.”
Try to use one trip to buy the groceries you need each week.
Avoid running out of foods midweek. The more times you enter the grocery store, the more money you will spend.
Don't shop for groceries when you're hungry. Make a grocery list before leaving the house and stick to it!
Look for the unit price on the shelf sticker to compare the cost of similar foods.
Just because something is on sale doesn’t mean it’s the best deal. Be sure to check the unit price.
