Eating on a Budget: At Home
  • Instead of filling your family's plates at the table, bring the plates to the table already filled. This may help everyone to not eat too much and leave you with more food for leftovers.
  • Use your freezer! It's good for leftovers, as well as for food you will not be able to use within a few days. This will help you keep food from spoiling.
  • Remember to have something every day for breakfast. You need something to keep you going until lunch. Plus, it will help you eat less at lunchtime.
  • Only leave enough snacks out for one day. This way, your family will not eat too many snacks, and this will save you money when buying snack food.
