Decide what's most important. Take the time to list your goals and decide how important and necessary they are in your life. Then come up with a plan to meet your goals. Avoid putting off important tasks.
Set goals, and write them down.

Set goals which are specific, can be measured, and which can be met. Try breaking them up into short and long term goals. Don't forget to reward yourself when you have met your goals.

Hand over or share responsibilities. Asking for help when you have too much to do is okay, just don't give others the jobs you should be doing yourself. If people ask too much of you, you can say no, politely and without guilt or apology.
clock Watch how you spend your time.

Writing down your schedule will help you see how you actually spend your time. It will also help you see how you could save time to do the things you want to do. Use short amounts of time to get quick tasks done.

Keep track of the tasks you put off.

Find out why you put them off. Look for ways you can make harder tasks easy and fun. Try doing your least favorite tasks first.

Remember that taking breaks is important too-this will help you to concentrate when you are working.

Set aside enough time.

For each project you start, calculate how long it will take you to complete. Then add on some more time just in case.

It's important to be flexible and allow for unexpected events. Scheduling tasks for the times when you usually get the most done will also help you meet your goals.

writing things down Combine tasks Think about ways to get two things done at once. For example, walk to the store so that you are exercising and running errands at the same time.
Pick the right place It's probably hard to work in a messy space, so put away everything that is not related to the job at hand. It is easier to concentrate on one thing at a time. Decide if you work better in a quiet place (such as the library) or in your own room with some background music.
Just do it! Stop waiting for the right moment and just get started - it probably won't be as hard as you think.
